CLIMATE MODEL CHECKLIST

Below is a table including all models evaluated by GLISA and whether or not they pass GLISA’s first-order credibility requirement: the climate model simulates the Great Lakes, their horizontal and vertical dynamics, and lake-land-atmosphere interactions. Models that meet this requirement are highlighted in green. Users may want to apply this requirement as their first filter when deciding which models to use in the Great Lakes region. Model bias is a second filters users may want to use, so we have pre-selected models whose temperature bias is less than 1.5ºC (the max amount of bias GLISA recommends accepting) and we report the model’s precipitation bias in the “Max Seasonal Precipitation Bias” column. The last column provides access to the model’s climate model report card for additional information.
