Tori Field is a Sustained Engagement Specialist for GLISA at the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability. In this role, Tori helps build and maintain intentional relationships with researchers, communities, and boundary organizations working to advance climate adaptation in the Great Lakes region. Tori manages the FloodWise Communities Program and GLISA’s Small Grants Program.
Tori comes to GLISA with prior experience engaging with a range of partners including local, state, and federal staff; local elected officials; the general public; educators and researchers; nonprofits and community-based groups; philanthropic organizations and foundations; as well as private sector consultants. Prior to joining GLISA, Tori managed coastal resilience programming at the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative, further developing a drive to help communities plan and prepare for natural hazards.
Tori holds an M.S. in Environment and Sustainability with a concentration in Sustainable Systems from the University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability, as well as a B.A. in Communication Studies with a minor in Environmental Studies from Grand Valley State University.
