Rachel Kelly

Climatologist, University of Michigan

Rachel is a Climatologist for GLISA at the University of Michigan. In this role, she supports various GLISA projects and products for their partners and stakeholders throughout the Great Lakes region. Rachel is involved in GLISA’s ensemble work, is assisting with developing new extreme precipitation guidance/resources for the region, and is coordinating the next Climate Modeling Workshop. 

Prior to joining GLISA as a Climatologist, Rachel worked for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency performing facility inspections, assisting the regulated community with compliance issues, and writing permits in both the air pollution and hazardous waste divisions. Rachel holds an M.Eng. in Applied Climate from the University of Michigan’s Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering Department, as well as a B.S. in Atmospheric Sciences with a minor in Geographic Information Systems from Ohio State University. During her masters studies, Rachel worked with GLISA on projects involving consumer reports for climate models, scenario planning, and the formation of the Practitioner Working Group.
