In 2012 GLISA awarded Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant with a one-year grant for their project to develop winter adaptation measures for the Chicago Climate Action Plan. They identified historical trends in winter precipitation and made projections for the future. Wintertime precipitation and the intensity of that precipitation are expected to increase and warmer temperatures may lead to denser snow. You can find their entire presentation here.
