Overview:
Located 40 miles northwest of Indianapolis and 25 miles east of Lafayette, Frankfort is located in the fertile plains of north/central Indiana. Similar to most of northern Indiana, temperatures normally reach the 80s during the summer while significantly cold days below zero are limited to less than one week per year.
Annual precipitation amounts are similar to many areas of northern Indiana. May, June, and July are normally the wettest months of the year, while January and February are the driest. Daily precipitation amounts can reach as high as five inches in the summer in extreme cases, with at 9 days on average where one or more inches of rainfalls.
