Overview:
Lake City is the county seat of Missaukee County in the northwestern lower peninsula of Michigan. The city gets its name from the three lakes that are in or near it: Lake Missaukee, Lake Sapphire, and Crooked Lake.

Temperatures in Lake City rarely exceed 90°F during the summer. During the winter, it is common to experience days below 32°F. Precipitation is evenly distributed throughout the year with slightly higher amounts in the spring and summer months. The area also gets high snowfall amounts during the winter months.
