Overview:
Located in southwest Indiana, Tell City is directly bordered by the state of Kentucky. Also directly bordering the area on the western and southern sides is the Ohio River, which is the most notable waterbody in the region.
Summertime temperatures can get hot at times, averaging the mid-70°Fs but exceeding 90°F about 26 days per year. Wintertime temperatures are milder, but these temperatures fall below freezing (32°F) around 75 days per year. Most of the region’s annual precipitation falls during the summer months. Extreme precipitation events occur infrequently, around 9 days per year. Thunderstorms occur about 45 days each year, mostly in July.
