Overview:
West Branch is located in the northern part of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. West Branch includes Irons Park, an important recreational area for the city, and a significant length of Ogemaw Creek. The climate in West Branch is typified by large variations in seasonal temperatures.

Summers are hot, though rarely have days above 90°F, and often humid while winters can be severely cold, with over 165 days below freezing on average in a given year. Precipitation, however, is fairly evenly distributed throughout the year, with slightly higher totals in late spring, summer, and early fall.
