Matt Naud

Practitioner in Residence

Matthew Naud was the first Environmental Coordinator for the City of Ann Arbor. He has 17 years of experience leading and developing innovative programs to further urban sustainability goals in Ann Arbor including climate mitigation and adaptation, energy efficiency, renewable energy, brownfield redevelopment, recycling, composting, river management, emergency management, and equity. He has played a formative and leadership role in the Urban Sustainability Directors Network and other regional networks of city sustainability staff. Currently, he is a senior consultant with adapt.city and Resource Recycling Systems. He holds Masters degrees in Biology and Public Policy from the University of Michigan and a Bachelors degree from Boston College.

Naud joined GLISA in April 2020 as the team’s first Practitioner in Residence. As a Co-founder of the Great Lakes Climate Adaptation Network (GLCAN), he leads GLISA’s collaboration with the network and facilities the team’s engagement with cities in the Great Lakes region. Recent projects include a vulnerability assessment template for Great Lake cities and supporting a cohort of Great Lakes local governments exploring sustainable purchasing opportunities.
